As I mentioned in a previous post, my recent trip to Mexico was a sensory overload… the volcanic stone of ancient ruins, the heat, the dizzying layers of history.

While exploring, I fell deep into Hugh Thomas’s 1993 “Conquest: Montezuma, Cortés and the Fall of Old Mexico”. What a great book.
